Truth Of Our Community

Between 2010 and 2022, the Latino population in Whatcom County grew by 44%. Today, Latinos make up 11.2% of the county’s population. Yet despite being the second-largest minority group, significant disparities remain:

  • The average annual income is $20,000 lower than that of white households
  • 23% of Latinos are uninsured
  • The public school graduation rate is 70%, which is 14% lower than the rate for white students
  • Latino youth face a dropout rate of 15%, which is twice as high as that of their white peers

With a growing Latino population, make a difference and be part of the change. Whether you’re a parent, sibling, or neighbor, we ask you to come together to improve Latino lives and sow the seeds for future generations
